It was a privilege to be part of Doordarshan Kendra News to celebrate Startup Day in India and reflect on the remarkable growth of the country’s startup ecosystem over the past decade.

During the discussion, insights were shared on how India’s entrepreneurial landscape has transformed from a developing ecosystem into one of the world’s largest innovation-driven economies. A decade ago, while organising one of the first startup awards in Bengaluru as part of the Institution of Engineering and Technology India IoT Congress, attracting startup participation itself was a challenge. Today, India is home to more than 200,000 startups, reflecting the country’s growing culture of innovation, risk-taking, and technology-led entrepreneurship.

On 9th December 2025, it was an opportunity to share perspectives with DD News Live on Australia’s decision to implement restrictions on social media usage for children below the age of 16.

The discussion focused on the growing global debate surrounding digital safety, online behaviour, mental well-being, and the impact of social media on young users. As technology becomes increasingly integrated into everyday life, governments and policymakers across the world are exploring ways to create safer and more responsible digital environments for children and adolescents.

The conversation highlighted the importance of balancing technological access with digital responsibility, parental awareness, mental health considerations, and age-appropriate online engagement.

On 26th November 2025, a brief yet highly meaningful visit was made to Imphal, with the entire journey spanning just eight hours. Despite the limited time, the visit proved to be deeply productive and impactful through a series of important meetings and engagements focused on education, culture, and institutional collaboration.

During the visit, an interaction was held with Ajay Kumar Bhalla to discuss matters of development, education, and regional growth. Meetings were also conducted with Shri Krishnan Bhaskar Ji from the Training and Placement Cell at Indian Institute of Information Technology Senapati, along with officials from the Department of Culture and the Department of Education, Government of Manipur.

Further discussions took place at Manipur University of Culture, focusing on opportunities for academic engagement, cultural development, and future collaboration. The visit also included an interaction with the Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal Manipur Prant team, reinforcing a shared commitment towards educational and social initiatives in the region.

South Asian University welcomed Dr. Rishi Mohan Bhatnagar for an inspiring guest lecture on “Bharat: Emerging Global Economic Leader.”

Dr. Bhatnagar beautifully wove together historical insights and forward-looking perspectives, highlighting how India has long been a flourishing civilisation with strong economic foundations — and what the future holds as Bharat rises as a global growth engine.

After the session, Dr. Bhatnagar met with Hon’ble President, Prof. K.K. Aggarwal, and Dr. Ravindra Kumar Soni, Registrar, SAU, and shared key insights on his work, mission, and transformative thought process.

Engaging with students, researchers, and startup teams provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on innovation-led growth, leadership, and the evolving opportunities within India’s rapidly expanding startup and technology landscape.
